Competition Rules

The major part of the display should last exactly 10 minutes.

Each display must be preceded by 3 maroons at 5-second intervals and close with 3 maroons.

The timing of the display will be from the burst of the third maroon announcing the display to the burst of the third maroon closing the display

Penalty points will be given for displays of greater or shorter duration according to the following scale: -

- 5-10 seconds 1 point
- 10-15 seconds 2 points
- 16-20 seconds 4 points
- 20-30 seconds 7 points
- Over 30 seconds 10 points

Judging will be carried out on the following basis:

Range of products 10 points
Rhythm of firing 10 points
Originality of design 10 points
Overall effect 10 points

In addition, the judges will each award a maximum of 5 points for perceived crowd appreciation and the technical judges will award a maximum of 5 points for display crew competence, adherence to legal requirements, good site layout and general safe working practices.
